For people who have early dementia, living at home as long as possible often becomes a goal. While this can be accomplished by putting a support system into place and ensuring care care needs are met within the home, there may come a time when a memory care facility becomes a necessity. If the individual doesn't have the funds to pay for personal care around the clock, yet they are not safe at home alone, it's time to transition to a memory care unit.
